My first link shows the similarities between Obama and Reagan in terms of tone of voice, optimism, and economic stimulus plans. It also relates to this week to show how the internet gives us information on political issues, because you can watch clips on Reagan's and Obama's speeches.
My second link shows the political vulnerability of the first family of the white house with the media as NBC talkes about the Obama family for not talking about their kids, family lives, their relationships, and their new lives in the white house as much detail as the media would like.

Two links, twice the fun?
ReplyDeletei really found the first article interesting, the videos were a plus. the article intrigued me because i would have never of thought to make a connection between them. after reading the article a did some more research on reagan, and i found him very interesting. for instince i did not know he was orginally a democrat and then switched to republican. do you think this fact helped him win his presidency?? Swing votes????
ReplyDeleteIdeological differences aside, there are important parallels between Obama and Reagan. Each was a "change" candidate who won a decisive victory when the nation was profoundly unhappy with the status quo. Obama, like Reagan, projects a message of hope and optimism exceedinly well. Obama's first days in office, with his decisive leadership style and whirlwind of activity, are also mirroring the early months of 1981.
